Leaders are an audience too…

Keeping senior managers at the top of the organisation in touch with the big picture and organisation-wide priorities is important.

Sessions on marketing introduced leaders to the impending high-profile campaign featuring the now-iconic Zingy.

Direct reports to Board members at EDF Energy already benefitted from a series of strategic communication events, however, feedback indicated that additional effort was needed for around 250 in the next tier who were more diverse both geographically and by job specialism.

Ken developed a programme of highly-interactive events built around key business issues.

The events were generally hosted by the CEO and at least one other Board member and supported by subject matter experts.

Plans for existing and new nuclear power stations were openly discussed – extending the pool of leaders able to talk confidently with others about the topic.

The immediate impact was that over 92% of attendees said they ‘better understood what the company was trying to achieve’ and were also ‘better able to speak to staff (and others) with confidence’.

The staff survey subsequently showed an improvement in the perception of leaders.
